Is This Too Much?

I can understand why they made the Owle Bubo for the iPhone, but I can't help but think that its a little over the top (and ugly). What do you think? Would you buy it?

I think this is a very good price for the item i have done some research myself. For instance the lens alone will cost you anywhere from $25-40 the Microphone is an additional $20-25 and the Aluminum case that it all fits into has got to be at least $70-75 if you wanted to make it yourself. The it is anodized which I am sure is not cheap. All that together to build it your self would cost close too $130 dollars. But lets face it neither of us will ever be able to produce ourselves it requires machines that are really pricey.

I guess i think it is worth it and I have done the comparison research and there is nothing that even competes with it. I have purchased mine and am waiting patiently to get it :)

I don't disagree. It is really good for what it is, I just think that it is overkill for the iPhone. I like that the iPhone is small and always with me. I can just pull it out and start shooting, but that's just me. I can totally see the benefit of using this for video blogging an event especially when used in conjunction with ReelDirector. What do you plan on using it for? I'd love to hear what you think of it after you've had some time to with it.

I am not sure what I will be using it for yet, but I like the concept and it seems like a good alternative to a camcorder because it is a couple hundred dollars Les. Have you seen the z-grip? If so what are your thoughts in comparison.

I definitely think this is better then the Z-Grip. It has way more functionality and it's less expensive.

If you are looking for a cheaper alternative to a camcorder then this is totally the way to go. Since I've already got one I can't see myself getting this unless I need it for something specific.
